Our mission is to provide an enriching environment where the arts are not merely taught but are used as a vehicle to connect, express, and explore. By intertwining the elegance of dance with the richness of Indian culture, we aim to cultivate a love for the arts, celebrate the roots of Indian Dance, instill confidence, and encourage self-expression in every child.
MS PRIYA'S JOURNEY
I've been dancing for as long as I can remember! Growing up in a small college campus town of Pilani in Rajasthan, India, I trained in the Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam and explored various dance forms through school, college, and adult life. Dance has always been a medium for me to express myself freely and grow creatively. I was also fortunate to experience the importance of diversity and inclusion at a young age through interactions in my community and the influence of my parents who are both educators.
After moving to the United States in 2012, I discovered my love for teaching kids through various opportunities, and decided to pursue what truly makes me happy and fulfilled - teaching kids and sharing the joy of Indian Dance & Culture that I grew up with. Creating engaging curriculum and interacting with kids of all ages, backgrounds and diverse learner needs makes me the happiest! Through my content, I strive to provide a glimpse into India's various genres of dance and its beautiful culture.

Priya Raman, Founder & CEO, Kids Instructor
Priya is the founder of Rhythm Roots. She is deeply passionate about sharing the joy of Indian Dance & Culture. Growing up in India, Priya trained comprehensively in various Indian dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Folk, and has over 20 years of diverse dance experience.
Priya takes great pride in sharing the joy of dance with kids and having a bigger and deeper influence on them. She has over 11 years of teaching experience with dancers of all ages, skill levels and backgrounds.
Namratha Varma, Kids Instructor
Dance is my way of expressing myself. My first-ever stage performance was at the age of 5, dressed as Lord Krishna, where I secured first place. From that moment on, there was no looking back.
As a self-taught dancer, I began choreographing for events during my school and college years. Today, I find immense joy in teaching the little ones who are destined to rock the stage one day. I look forward to the boundless energy and excitement they bring, and I’m thrilled to share my passion with all of them!
Swati Gangrade, Kids Instructor
My love for dance began at age 4 with my first stage performance, sparking a lifelong passion. By day, I’m a full-time project manager at a leading retail company, but dance remains my true happy place.
I’ve trained in Kathak, Belly dancing, and Latin American styles, and through Rhythm Roots, I’ve enjoyed both learning and sharing this art form. Teaching kids dance is challenging but incredibly rewarding—a pursuit I’m deeply passionate about!
